I've been using IK Multimedia plugins and instruments for years, so now I'm selling them.  If you want IK, I've got it and you can help support The Dustbowl Audio website.

_Drum Replacement, Mixing,  Editing and Pre-Mastering

Picture
  • Demo not QUITE what you hoped for?
  • Perspective gone after hundreds of hours of writing, recording and maybe even mixing it yourself?
  • Recorded 3 songs in 1 day and somehow the mix didn't get quite the attention it needs?
  • Drums and bass still not tight&right?
  • Got your beat, got your vocal - but it somehow doesn't sound like a record?

What can I do for you?

_
  • _Add punch, clarity, warmth, width to your multitracks or stereo mix
  • Drum editing and enhancement (or substitution if you don't tell the drummer)
  • Make it loud without wrecking your sound (unless you want to - I can make it REALLY LOUD if you're absolutely sure!)
  • Edit and assemble your tracks for production mastering of your CD
  • Clean and edit your spoken word audiobooks, podcasts and voiceovers
  • Competitively priced audio mixing, editing and mastering of your audio

Editing and Drum Replacement

Picture
_Without the bottom you've nothing to stand-on (so to speak). Drums are often the literal heartbeat of  your music. Relaxed (OK, yes that can mean "poor") timing and weak sounds will rip the soul right out of your songs. I can edit your drum parts to tighten timing without making it sound robotic and replace or layer parts to enhance the sound and punch  without having to eq-in lots of mix-wrecking mud!

Mixing

Picture
_Mixing is the last truly creative part of the production of music after writing and arranging. High-end-celebrity Mixing Engineers are treated (and often paid) like gods. So why is your mix often treated as a necessary evil to be stuck on the end of a recording session by the same guy who hates you because he just spent an 8 hour day listening to the guitar player trying to play a funk "Stairway"?!?

I can mix from your multitracks or stems.

_Editing and Pre-Mastering

Picture
_What most people think of as Mastering is really Pre-Mastering - it's the last step of the production of content before you get into production of media. As such it is the last opportunity to check your mixes and to add the final polish.  Many amateur producers (often the writer, artist, recording engineer, and/or mixer)  are unsure as to whether they need to spend even more money on this stage.  On the one-hand there is the reasonable fear that you might be missing the final bit of audio juice that can be squeezed into your work to date, on the other hand the Mastering Engineer might stomp all over your carefully crafted recording or charge you for mystic stuff that really didn't need doing.

I can
  • Make it louder
  • Make the tracks sound as though they belong together
  • Adjust the sound (a little)  if it's not quite what you wanted after mixing
  • Sequence, edit, fade and gap your tracks ready for production mastering
...and if I think it needs nothing then that I'll do and that's what I'll charge you!
